🎼 How do I transpose the chords / audio?
Need to change a song’s key? We’ve made transposing both chords and audio as easy as a couple of taps—here’s how:
1. Transposing Chords
- Open any song page (or view it from within a setlist).
- Look for the Key dropdown above the chord chart.
- Tap the key you want, and the chords will instantly re-render in that key.
2. Transposing Audio
- On the same song page (or in a setlist), find the Transposable Audio Player controls.
- Choose your desired key.
- Hit ▶️ Play — your audio will play in the new pitch.
🛠️ Transposable audio not working?
Quick tip (a very rare edge case): a few users have told us that on their mobile device, the audio sometimes won’t transpose on the first try. If that happens, here’s a simple workaround:
- Refresh the page and wait 5–10 seconds for the page to finish loading before pressing Play.
- On mobile, tap Play in the normal player (the one above the transposable audio player) first — this "primes" the transposable player to work correctly when you change the key on your device.
What Do Those Numbers Mean?
If your key selector shows values like “+2” or “–1,” those simply indicate how many semitones (half-steps) you’re moving the song up or down.
