🔊 How do I use the audio players?
👤 This WorshipChords feature is included with your account.
Don't have one yet? Create your account here for instant access.
We offer two ways to listen to song audio on WorshipChords — one for simple playback, and one for transposing into any key. Both live right on the song page (or in your setlists), so you can pick the experience that works best for you and your team.
1. Standard Audio Player
Your go-to player for quick listening, previewing, or rehearsing:
- Press ▶️ Play to start the track.
- Pause at any point—then press ▶️ Play again to resume where you left off.
- Click or drag along the progress bar to skip ahead or rewind.
- Volume controls let you turn it up or down as needed.
Tip: Use this player anytime you just want full control over playback — scrubbing, pausing, and jumping to exactly the right spot.
2. Transposable Audio Player
Need the song in a different key? This player handles pitch-shifted playback on the fly:
- On the same song page (or in a setlist), find the Transposable Audio Player controls.
- Choose your desired key.
- Hit ▶️ Play — your audio will play in the new pitch.
Why two players?
The transposable player is optimized for real-time pitch shifting, so it omits advanced scrub controls to keep playback smooth. For full playback features — seeking and pause-resume support, etc. — use the Standard Audio Player above.
🔧 Troubleshooting & Tips
Transposable audio not playing (mobile)?
- Sometimes songs fade in very quietly. If you still don’t hear anything after up to 10 seconds:
- Refresh the page and wait up to 10 seconds for all audio files to finish loading before pressing Play.
- Tap ▶️ Play (once or twice) to initiate the transposable audio player.
- OR, if that still doesn't work — tap ▶️ Play first in the standard audio player (above the transposable audio player) to “prime” your device’s audio engine to work correctly when you change the key on your device. Then, press ▶️ Play next on the transposable audio player.
- Other mobile device checks (if still silent):
- Turn volume up and turn off silent/mute (iPhone side switch).
- Make sure sound is going to the right output (phone speaker or your earbuds), not a disconnected Bluetooth/AirPlay device.
- Disable do not disturb/focus mode, then try again or refresh the page.
This should get your pitch-shifted audio up and running!
What Do Those Numbers Mean?
If your key selector shows values like “+2” or “–1,” those simply indicate how many semitones (half-steps) you’re moving the song up or down.
We’re always fine-tuning this feature for you — if something doesn’t behave as expected, give us a shout in the Help Center and we’ll jump on it right away!
