🔍 How do I search for / find a song?
With over 12,000+ songs (and constantly growing), WorshipChords offers one of the most extensive chord libraries available online.
That's amazing news, and it means our worship song catalog spans a wide range of lyrics, titles, and themes.
So whether you’re looking for a specific worship anthem or just trying to remember a lyric that hit your heart last Sunday, our site-wide search makes it easy to find exactly what you need - if you know how to use it the right way.
This guide will show you how to search effectively, where to find the search bar, and how to get the best results without frustration... 😁
Where do I find the search bar?
🖥️ On Desktop:
You’ll see the search bar in two places:
- In the top navigation bar (upper-right corner of the site)
- In the right-hand sidebar
📱 On Mobile:
Look for the search bar:
- Under the Navigation dropdown
- Or scroll to the very bottom of the page - it’s always there for quick access
🎯 What Can You Search?
You can search for any of the following:
- 🎵 Song titles (best results!)
- 📝 Lyrics (any line or phrase from the song)
- 👤 Artists (the performer or band)
- ✍️ Authors (the songwriters)
- 💬 Phrases (any snippet you remember)
BUT for best results, try not to use all of these together when you're searching - just one at a time is best. We'll explain why and what to do instead below...
💡 How To Find The Song You Want
1. Always start with the title (or even part of it).
- Example: “way maker” → the Way Maker chords page will appear first.
2. Can’t remember the title? If you can't remember the title of the song you want, search a lyric line or phrase you recall from it.
- Example: “your promise still stands” → the Do It Again chords page will appear first.
3. Still stuck? If you can't remember the song's title or any of its lyric lines/phrases - try the artist, worship band, or songwriter name, optionally paired with any other distinctive word(s) from the song.
- Example: “elevation faithfulness” → the Do It Again chords page will appear first.
- Example: “elevation” → the songs by Elevation will appear first (but also songs with the word “elevation” in it)
☝️ (Search one of these options at a time for best results - details below...)
⚠️ Important: Search One Kind Of Term At A Time
Our search engine looks for every word you type.
Too many words can hide the song you want, so keep it simple:
❌ Over-stuffed query | ✅ Better query |
---|---|
“i know you'll do it again elevation music chris brown” | “do it again” (title) |
“your promise still stands” (lyric) | |
“elevation faithfulness” (artist + distinctive word) |
✅ One clear term you're sure is from the song gives you the highest chance of finding the right song fast.
❌ If you combine several things into one search, you may get zero results - even if we have the song!
🔁 What if I can't remember the title?
👉 No problem! Try searching in this order (remember, one at a time):
- Try the exact title (if you know it) - or a part of the title
- Search a line of lyrics you remember - or a part of the line
- Search the artist / author name + a distinctive word from the song
- Search the artist (or worship band) name
- Search the author (songwriter)
- Try a phrase or word you recall from the song
*Tip: once you find a song by an artist or author, you can also click into their name and browse other songs they’ve written or recorded.

🎯 Summary
WorshipChords search is powerful, but simple when used correctly:
- Use one type of search term at a time
- Titles and lyrics work best
- Avoid combining types of searches, like the “title + artist + author + lyrics” all in one search (unless you're absolutely sure each word will match exactly to the song)
- Use mobile or desktop - search works great on both
- Reach out if you’re stuck - we’re here to help!
Happy searching! 😊
